What is graph paper?
Graph paper is printed with a grid of equal squares, so you can draw straight lines, plot points and keep proportions without a ruler. The most common grids are 5 mm and 1/4 inch (four squares per inch); finer 1 mm and 1/10 inch grids are used for technical work. Here you can set any square size and add a bold line every few squares to make counting easier.

Graph paper: frequently asked questions
What size are graph paper squares?
The most common sizes are 5 mm and 1/4 inch (about 6.35 mm, four squares per inch). Engineering paper uses 1/10 inch squares, and 1 cm squares suit young students. You can enter any size from 1 mm to 100 mm.
How do I add darker lines every few squares?
Set “Bold line every … squares” to a number such as 5 or 10. Every fifth or tenth line is then drawn twice as thick, which makes counting and scaling easier.
Can I make graph paper in landscape orientation?
Yes. Switch the orientation to landscape in Page setup; the grid refits the page and the square count updates under the preview.
