What is blank sheet music?
Staff paper, also called manuscript paper, is printed with groups of five horizontal lines for writing music notation. Standard manuscript paper has 12 staves per page; books for children often use 6 to 8 larger staves so notes are easier to read and write. The staff line gap sets the size of each staff, which is four times that gap tall.

Blank sheet music: frequently asked questions
How many staves should a page have?
12 staves per page is the usual layout for manuscript paper. Beginners and children usually find 6–8 larger staves easier to write on.
What does “staff line gap” mean?
It is the distance between neighboring lines of a staff. A 2 mm gap gives an 8 mm staff, close to standard printed music; 3–3.5 mm makes large staves for beginners.
Can I print sheet music in landscape?
Yes. In Page setup, switch the orientation to landscape. The staves then run along the long side of the page, giving you more room on each line.
